Oklahoma men's basketball has added another late piece to its 2026-27 roster, signing fifth-year transfer forward Duke Brennan out of the portal. Brennan, who stands 6-foot-10 and weighs 250 pounds, arrives from Villanova after the best season of his college career.

Head coach Porter Moser described Brennan as a player who combines size, toughness, skill and a competitive edge, and said he expects an immediate impact. "He's one of the best rebounders in the country and a proven winner who plays with tremendous passion and physicality," Moser said. The coach also called him a skilled passer who fits the Sooners' five-out offense and their culture.

In his single season with the Wildcats, Brennan averaged 12.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while making 65.8% of his shots from the field. He logged 14 double-doubles and 23 games in double figures in scoring, helping Villanova reach the 2026 NCAA Tournament. He was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team.

His season high came against Pitt, when he scored 24 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field and 8-of-12 at the foul line. He also pulled down 20 rebounds against Queens, an NCAA qualifier. Double-doubles in wins over Xavier (20 points, 13 rebounds), Creighton (21 and 12), Georgetown (13 and 13) and Wisconsin (13 and 13) rounded out his top performances.

Brennan ranked 11th nationally in rebounding and was one of only two players to average a double-double while shooting better than 60% from the field. His 132 offensive rebounds placed him seventh in the NCAA. He became the first Villanova player to average at least 10 rebounds per game in a season since Harold Pressley managed 10.1 in 1985-86.

Over 133 career games, 98 of them starts, Brennan has totaled 1,040 points and 919 rebounds, shooting .622 from the field. His teams have reached four straight NCAA Tournaments. He started at Arizona State in 2022-23, played at Grand Canyon from 2023 to 2025, and then moved to Villanova before joining Oklahoma for his last year of eligibility. At Grand Canyon he earned All-WAC and WAC All-Defensive Team honors in 2024-25 after averaging 10.4 points and 9.2 rebounds.

A native of Chandler, Arizona, Brennan played at Perry High School in 2018-19 alongside Oklahoma City Thunder standout Jalen Williams. He finished his prep career at Hillcrest Prep, where he was a Pangos All-American and the Arizona Premier Region 6A Player of the Year as a senior.

Oklahoma has now brought in nine newcomers. The roster also includes guard Xzayvier Brown, described as All-American caliber after averaging 15.6 points, and Derrion Reid, a preseason All-SEC candidate who averaged 11.7 points and 4.4 rebounds.

Brennan is the second fifth-year transfer the Sooners have signed in August, following guard B.J. Edwards. Both ranked in the top 10 of the On3 fifth-year transfer rankings, and Oklahoma is the only program with two signees in that group. Season tickets are on sale from $199 through the OU Athletics Ticket Office at 405-325-2424 or outickets@ou.edu.
